Well, turns out he was on lunch monitor duty, which fortunately is something he could be called away from without them finding someone to cover. So what they did was call him to the principal's office, which had a door from the hall as well as the door you can see that he just came through. This allowed us to get ready in the main office before the principal (he's the one wearing the suitcoat) brought him in.

Afterwards we heard him tell the principal, "You had me worried there." So I guess fear of getting called to the principals office doesn't end when you become a teacher!
